01Mowing and rolling
- Reel mowers for squares, infields and close-mown turf
- Rotary and flail mowers for outfields
- Rollers for pitch preparation and surface trueness

Cricket grounds, football pitches and multi-use sports fields, built and maintained by the company that builds golf courses: shaping, drainage, irrigation, turf and the machinery to keep them playable.

Subsequently, after years of producing world class golf facilities in the country, the company ventured into the development of various other sorts of sports facilities which included Multi-Use Sports Fields. This expansion made the company a fully-fledged professional sports ground development company in India.
Cricket outfields and pitch squares, football and hockey grounds, school and academy fields, stadium turf: the same drainage, irrigation and turf discipline that keeps a golf course open in August keeps a ground playable through a season.
Six stages, whether the brief is a school cricket ground or a stadium outfield.

Levels, soil and rainfall data decide the falls, the drainage grid and the square or pitch layout.

Outfield graded to shed water, pipe drainage and sand slits sized to Indian monsoon intensity.

Clay-loam strips built in compacted layers for cricket; engineered rootzones for football and multi-sport fields.

Pop-up sprinklers and central control so the ground is watered by need, not by timer.

Hybrid bermudagrass for wear and heat, sprigged or sodded, grown in to playing standard.

Reel and rotary mowers, rollers, aerators, sprayers and line markers, with a maintenance programme.
Every ground is handed over with the fleet and the programme to keep it at the standard it was built to.

03The cost depends on the site, the pitch square specification, drainage, irrigation, grassing and facilities such as floodlights and nets. A full-specification ground with a multi-strip square, pipe drainage and irrigated outfield costs substantially more than a graded and grassed field. SGDC provides a specification and a phased estimate from the site and the level of cricket to be played.
Yes. SGDC builds and maintains multi-use sports fields, football grounds and cricket grounds using the same shaping, drainage, irrigation and turf expertise it applies to golf courses.
Warm-season grasses such as hybrid bermudagrass are the usual choice for outfields and football pitches because they tolerate heat and wear and recover quickly. The pitch square uses selected clay-loam soil chosen for bounce and pace.
Reel mowers for close-mown areas, rotary or flail mowers for the outfield, rollers, aerators, sprayers and line markers. SGDC supplies Jacobsen, Ransomes, Wiedenmann, Wessex, Tru-Turf, Team Sprayers and Pitchmark equipment with service across India.
